Dateline WWII is the most complete video history of the Second World War. Each episode tells a unique story of war through rare video footage and newsreel style narration. Dateline is not just the story of the famous battles but it also tells the story of the home front, plane art, soldiers at play and the hardware they used, all in chronological order.

BLITZKRIEG

In 1933, a former army corporal leads the Nazi Party to power and becomes Chancellor of Germany. Meanwhile, in Asia the Japanese Empire begins a brutal conquest of China. Germany begins to rebuild its army as Hitler takes his first step to war ending with the invasion of Poland. As fighting begins in Europe the United States begins preparing for the war that only a few realize will soon spread around the world.
